Greetings from Illinois,

After dropping in on the Bolters as a guest now and then, my recent acquisition finally allowed me to register bonafide. I belong to a couple forums as I believe automotive sites to be invaluable resources the garage inclined.

Dad always said, "If you're going to own two vehicles - make one a truck." I've followed that advice most of my life and it proved to be sound. But the job required I use a company vehicle for the last decade - so no truck... But those days are over now! And I knew exactly what I was going to do - I now have a very stock '61 Apache, I-6, manual 3-speed, long box. She leaks and needs a little attention - but who doesn't? The last manual 235 I drove was in my high school girlfriend's Biscayne - I never forgot that car.

The proper manuals are on their way through the magic of eBay. In the meantime, I'll post any questions in the appropriate forums. I'm glad to be the latest member of the Stovebolt community.

Take care,

Jim

Jim, a big Stovebolt welcome to you. Many of us have been here for years and realize this is the most valuable web site for Stovebolt guys that is on the web.
See you around the garage........and watch for other bolters from your state. They are quite a few here.

To Rusty Rod, Justhorsenround, Achipmunk and Frank50...

Thank you for the kind words. I was hoping there would be some other Illinois members in the community. The heat has kept me out of the garage theses past days. But I do have some questions that I will post up on a separate thread... Likely tonight.

Thanks again,

Jim

Welcome and have a great adventure, the people on Stovebolt Forums are some of the best. They have helped me so much and have forgiven me for stupid mistakes (computer errors). I believe these old stovebolt trucks emit some sort of drug that causes mild addiction. Doc.
