My new truck is only a puny half ton, but I love it! I just got home early from Christmas at the ranch and drove it around for an hour or so. Makes me feel good all over and especially with everyone on the road looking!
Where there extra optional mirrors you could buy on a 46 from the factory, or was it something you did yourself as an add on?
It has been modified and is not a stock truck. Actually I bought it that way and would haev preffered the old 6 with the 3 soeed onteh floor. The second owner before me decided to hop it up a bit..What a shame, but it is so unique. If you would like to see it drop me a line with your email address and I'll send you some pictures.

The outside mirror arms attached to the upper door hinge. There are aftermarket ones being made. The passanger side arm is longer than the drivers side they mount under the hinge pin and they have a small set screw in the rear of the bracket to keep it from moving.

Although I imagine you could use many different inside mirrors although they may not look period. I will try to find one for the passenger side for safety purpose!!
