The front engine mount of a1940 Chevy 1/2 ton has a number of metal pieces one of which has a slight curb on the long edge. Does this curb go up or down and does it face the front and back?

How tight should you tighten the bolts?

On the rear mount, two bolts attach the mount to the bell housing while one attaches to the frame. Are there any washers or metal plates places between the bolts/nuts and the rubber mount to support them?

What is the size of the bolt that secures the mount to the frame?

How tight should you tighten the bolts?

I presume you are talking about how much to squeeze the rubber? Not so tight to squeeze it out, snug, but then should be double jutted to maintain adequate tension but not come loose.

I believe there is a metal plate vulcanized into the rubber. The bolts screw Threw that plate into the bell housing on the side so I can’t double nut it.
It just seems strange to put a lock washer on the bolt that fastens against the rubber.... a flat washer maybe then the lock washer.... don’t know.....mmmmm

Any idea what size the bolts are that go into the frame?
