Here's some eye candy for you engine lovers:
A freshly painted stovebolt!

I chose turquoise to match my license plate, but now I'm having trouble deciding weather or not to go two-tone by painting some of the covers another color?
For some reason the camera makes it look more blue... in real life it looks more like the attached rustoleum sample

Currently thinking about dark yellow for the chevy letters, filter cap, timing cover... side cover is really hard to decide, leaning towards keeping it same color as block.
Black oil pan?

It's funny how I'm excited to paint the engine... but not planning to touch the body not me

My opinion is to keep it the way it is and accent with yellow. Ie lettering, plug wires, etc. that way it stands out and draws your eye to it. It’s your engine and truck to modify the way you want. Only you know what is in your head. Good luck, have fun and post some after pictures.

Compare Yellow or Orange as accent.
But it's your project. Either way the right people will stare at it!!

For some reason everyone makes a comment on the "Bengal Orange" on my engine...

I just had a painful reminder of why I'm not an artist!
Looks good from a distance though!

Other than the chevy script on top, which is a little indistinct, I think you did a good job. I like it. thumbs_up

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.

I've always like that color.....some Chevy's were painted a color close to that. I'm thinking about a 60 Chev coupe I had like that. I think it is a real "clean" looking color. Back in my day i think it was called Tahitiaon Turquoise or sometthing like that.
Anyway, I like it!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
