Would the under bellhousing crossmember from a 67-72 C60 or a 73 and newer C60 interchange with a 64 C60? For reference my 64 bellhousing casting number is 3779388 and has the large 197 tooth flywheel with 13 inch clutch. I note this as I have seen other 60-66 C60 trucks with a smaller bellhousing, flywheel and clutch incase this makes a difference in the crossmember.

I will need a replacement crossmember for a 64 C60 but the yards I know of only have the 67 and newer C60’s

I appreciate any help on this.

Hy red450IH, according to my parts book, support, engine rear, group 7.011 is the same for gas six cylinder engines between 1963-66, a different part number for V8 gas engines exc.409 between 1963-66, these are specifications for the 60 series. The 1967 and newer trucks all have different part numbers for that part. Hope that informs.

3B, thank you for the information - much appreciated. Would this also mean there is specific bellhousing for a six cylinder and a V8 in 63-66? Also would 67-72 have a different crossmember and bellhousing for each, a six cylinder and a V8?

This should help me narrow down the crossmembers to consider looking for in salvage yards.

I think since u are using the adapter for large clutch I would think that a later cross member should work, note the later frame is wider I believe get out your tape measure!
