Ok on my 1949 GMC 150 I have ran into some confusion on which type of windlace my truck needs. The issue is it does not have a channel or any screw holes for the other style retainers. The cab appears to be all stock and dosent seem to have had anything done to it. I was told to look for any previous spot welds that would have held the channel to the cab but im a little confused on exactly what area they would have been. I see no spot welds that were on the i side of the cab. Only ones i have found in the perimeter were on the outside of the cab facing the door. I will include some pics. Thanks for the help guys.
Does your truck have the piece that goes along the floor horizontal.Rubber with a metal retainer.If you do I think they are a different style than the 50-55 first series
Yes I believe it does. I bought the truck in about 50 boxes and im down to the last of them and i did see the straight metal strips that go on the floor the length of the door.
I also looked and saw that they sell the aftermarket retainers. I just found it odd my truck does not even have the screw holes where they would have been previously attached.
This will be a difficult wrecking yard effort, there are numerous welds and the track is very thin gauge. For the time and effort you might want to consider the reproduction version.
