I just started having problems with the timming on my car. It has a stumble that feels like a electrical miss at highway speed. I have gone through the electrical system and its still there. The only thing I see wrong is that the vacuum advance moves the points alot ( 15 - 20 deg.)with just a small amount of throttle. Is it possible that the return spring in the vacuum advance is dead? Any thoughts would be appreciated. OH its a 66 mustang 289 v8.

if it dosen't need fixed, break it

Kedso, does it hitch when backing off the gas or cruising?
Also, I'd confirm that there's no vac leak.
