What is the cost of converting a 1996 caprice classic v8 from fuel injection to distributor/carbuerator.What pieces are needed. thanks---50 chevy 3100....

I think a vortec, carb intake would work but you may want to talk to some techs at a GM dealership and find out for sure. You know the ignition is run off of the front of the crankshaft so I'm thinking you'll have to change the oil pump, at least, to run a conventional distributor. Also, the water pump is driven by the camshaft, so drive belts are going to be a problem too,

Should cost you less than $1000.

You will need an LT1 carbureted manifold about $260 for your L99 engine.

A carbutetor and a distributor.

All this is available through GM Performance Products. Call Scoggin Dickey and they can sell you the whole package.

Why not just keep the fuel injection? You will make more horsepower, get better fuel mileage, and the engine should last longer.

Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine and into your brain...that is where crappy ideas come from.
