The vacuum windshield wipers are one feature I'd like to keep (not a daily driver but a Sunday driver). That being said, does a PCV system such as Deve's have a significant affect on the vacuum wipers?

A factory PCV was used with vacuum wipers on a lot of vehicles. If you want to be period correct and still have good working wipers try to find a dual action fuel piump that works. Of course, finding one of them might be akin to discovering the Holy Grail, an homest politician, or a truthful used car salesman!

Electric wipers are on the top ten hidden mod list...........for obvious reasons.

Original appearance or original-working equipment?
Dual-action vacuum wipers work well at all speeds/rpms.

You have to buy the more expensive ones such as Newport Engineering to be able to install without issues.

Standard fuel pump - not dual action.
When I installed the power disc brakes, I replaced the vacuum wipers with electric and ran the vacuum line to the brake booster.
So, yes, you can run PCV and vacuum wipers.

| | | | | Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 1,214 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 1,214 | I ran a PCV on my old 216 with vacuum wipers and just a std fuel pump, no additional vacuum and it was serviceable for the several years I ran it that way. I rarely ventured out in the 49 if it was already raining but when caught out on a cruise the vacuum wipers had no trouble getting me home safely.
I did a thread and review on it many moons ago, (2013 or so I believe). I tried Deve's way and ended up modifying the draft tube to position the PCV further away from the block as my old 216 had way too much blowby to mount the PCV directly in the block.
The size of the PCV matters immensely as too big will rob too much vacuum from the wiper motor. I replaced the 216 with a 235 and will be installing the old PCV setup to the 235 once I clean it up and make it more presentable. Too many benefits to running a PCV IMHO.
