The engine sits level in my 37 and with a later 235 the carb leans towards the front, was there ever a 235 that sat level in a big truck or industrial application that would have a intake where the carb would be level.

It seems you could take one of those plastic spacers that go between the carb & manifold & grind it at an angle. You may have to elongate the holed in the carb a little..

The present 235 is from a truck and it it does anglr the carb some but the new 235 is from a 60 car and looks to have more of a angle but could be a illusion.

If it tips forward, that would mean the fuel level in the bowl would be closer to level when you are drag racing due to centrifugal force wink

Joking aside, a number of companies over the years have produced wedges for marine engines to level the carburetor.

Good carburetion is fuelish hot air
The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.

When I'm fabricating motor mounts I put a carpenter's level on the intake manifold carb flange and level it both ways. Of course, the suspension needs to be close to its normal running height, front and rear. If your engine is already installed it would be simpler to machine the top of the manifold to correct any out of level problems.

I might put the front of the engine up a little.

Is it giving you any kind of trouble or just the looks bother you? We also mount them according to the carburetor flange but I tell the customer to take a picture because unless they live in the flat lands of western Kansas, Nebraska, or along the Gulf Coast it will be the only time it will be level again. Cars ran from 1900 to 1987 in San Francisco with carbs that were never level. Stick a wedge under it if the sight is making you have headaches. WW1 dogfights would have been very boring if both planes had to stay level.

I was under the impression that aftermarket dual plane intakes manifolds were designed with a taller profile at the rear to compensate for engine angularity...etc.

I had to do some modifications to the carb to get fuel in the pump area and that was when the truck sat even, now the truck sits lower in the front and if I can just get the carb to sit lever with the engine it would be nice. I think around 1940 the engines sat lower in the rear.
