I just stumbled on your site so I thought I would join and check this place out. Together, my son Nate (now 20yrs old) and I have a Father/Son project which is a 1951 Chevy 3100. This truck was previously owned by one of my dad's best friends, named Bill who was also a great mentor to me growing up. In fact Bill would drive me around at night in this very truck when I was in diapers as he was trying to put me to sleep when he would babysit me.
Anyways, we've spent the past 8 years fabricating the chassis and getting the truck running. We still have a ways to go on it, but Nate is having a great time learning how to work on old hot rods. I hope to learn a bunch from you guys.

Its great to be able to pass on our knowledge to the next generation. I will surely serve him well in the future. Nice set up you have there.......and keeping your son busy will also keep him out of trouble. Well, maybe a speeding ticket! LOL
There are bunches of Texas guys here so watch for them......called the Texas Connection!

Nate was quite younger when those pics were taken. The truck is on the road now, but still not completed. We still have lots of body & paint work left as well as the interior to finish out. Nate was recently chosen as the GoodGuys Southwest Nationals YoungGuys recipient when he came home from college over the short weekend. Unfortunately, he had to return for work Saturday night and couldn't stay to pick up his award...so he let his cousin drive the truck to the awards show for him.[img]https://www.facebook.com/1951chevytruck/videos/763343700783339/[/img]
That's the plan. We are trying to match the mid 60's patina on it so Nate doesnt have to worry about scratching the glossy paint. It is dadz34, but that was named after my dad as he bought the '34 in 1965 and handed me the title when I turned 21 yrs old. We've logged 330,000 miles on this car so far between him and I on 4 rebuilds. Hopefully Nate will carry on the tradition and keep the sedan and the '51 running with his kids one day.
