I have seatched this forum for what bolts are used when replacing bed wood. To no avail. Got new oak boards and sealed em up. Gonna install this weekend. Round holes in strips mean carriage bolts wont work. Regular bolts wont look right. Any recommendations other than buying the bolt kits. Brian

There are bedstrip bolts made specifically for those bedstrips with round holes. They are splines in them which grab the bedstrip holes. Many of the vendors carry them.

I think I would paint them. They will just rust otherwise. Even some engine enamel will work well.
