Are brake parts even still available for big trucks like this? I haven't taken the drum off to inspect but I can only assume the pads need replaced. The truck has been sitting since the 70's.
If they are savable thats great but just in case does anyone have leads on parts for these bigger trucks?
its frustrating that all the 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks have brand new parts available but were left out to dry.

In any case carry on and do your braking system inspection and give us a list of the parts you want/need to bring it back into correct operation, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 1,038 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 1,038 | Don't know where in AZ you are but Phoenix Brake and Clutch will be able to help you. It is located on I-17 near the McDowell exit west of downtown PHX. They can reline your shoes and be sure to ask for the softest lining (they will grab and stop the best). Also, they can reline your cylinders if they are pitted (I think they ship them out somewhere). Hoses and rebuild kits they will have.
Also, when they reline your shoes, take your drums in, so they can arc the shoes to the individual drums.
Brake lines you will have to do yourself.
