I do not plan on changing hubs yet so will stick with 6 stud lugs. I understand the wheels from a Chevy Blazer are a good match. I don't know much about wheel spacing, back spacing etc but hope the Blazer rims will be okay. I believe they are 15x6".
The only problem I would have I understand is adapting the old Chevrolet hubcaps.

They are strong enough but I agree about the hard steering. I had 15" radials on my 53 and my arms got a good workout. I was actually more concerned with breaking tie rod ends.
Presently I have Firestone 650-16 bias-ply. And am very happy with them, unlike the old Cooper bias I had before.
