I decided to keep the stock steering column and cut it a couple inches from the firewall utilizing steering joints to connect to the sector. It works great, but I have discovered that I do not need that big ole stock steering wheel. My question is, is there a smaller dia steering wheel that will fit on the stock column? I have been told that back in the 60's they changed the number of splines on the shaft. So, what smaller wheel will work on my stock column? Any help would be appreciated.

Combine this with a poorly adjusted manual steering box and 10" wide front tires and I could barely turn the wheel. I did however have to grind the lower side of the hub to get it to slide onto the shaft far enough for my liking. So any wheel from a Vega, S10 or most anything GM will slide right on.
