The rear end...well, let's just say that there were several types of rear ends used in Novas. they range from 8.2 inch 4-lug setups in 62-63, 8.2 5-lug, 10-bolt used thru 72 or so 8.5 inch 10 bolts used in 66-79 applications and a smattering of 12-bolt units here and there. So by saying a "Nova rear end" you've essentially said, "I have a rear end that may have come out of some GM car." There is one thing that I know about Cadillac engines. I believe the oil pan is reverse of the Chevrolet, that is, the deep part of the pan ends up right over the axle, instead behind it. That gives some folks problems. Might want to check it out.

I'm looking to put this in my son's '46 Chevy 1/2 ton. The Caddy engine, BTW, is only 10 pounds heavier that a SBC, 100" bigger than the biggest SBC built, and gets a heckuva lot more attention at a cruise or a show!. I've even thought about a 440 Chrysler with a Six-Pac (Tri-Power for those solely of GM upbringing!), as I have three 440 engines along with a Six-Pac set-up that's about 75% complete. People don't hesitate to put a SBC in just about everything; I think it's time the tables were turned! :p
