After a 2 and half year journey of this machine, wanted to share some photos. Hope you like them.

1954 5 window deluxe, w/ Hydramatic. Plan to change out the windshield seal and my original trim.
Added the deluxe heater of which it had none and the foot-pump windshield washer bottle.

Very nice!! Looks like you did some top quality work, and made a pretty significant investment in replacement parts also.

Significant investment is an understatement, and if your married, make sure your wife is on board and tolerant.

I took some liberties on my definition of what deluxe was, no white cab roof and de-chromed the grill.

Congratulations

Beautiful truck - nice work

Do you have the 1954 windshield washer assembly? The foot pedal squirted water AND turned on the wiper.

Deluxe ("five" window cab) is an OK term, I think (Greg Hill will clarify/correct/confirm).

In 1954, there were additional 2-tone interior/exterior options, and (I think) the possibility of a separate chrome grill option.

Yes 235 engine, the washer is the foot pedal type with rubber bulb.

I replicated the 2 tone interior/ exterior paint with the original fabric bench seat replicated. The original fabric was hiding under some
vinyl covers

Does the foot-pedal washer also activate the wipers (they could in 54/55st; but, they might not "automatically" activate the wipers, if it is a 1953 or earlier unit).

No matter, you have a very nice truck.

This car was always on my list something to purchase and restore Took several years before I decided I was going to make a purchase. Probably the most interesting anb the most frustrating car I ever restored, wasn’t in like the average foreign car that I am grown a custom to restoring and maybe that’s why it made it appealing was it unrefined air about it.

I especially like the painted grill that doesn’t call attention to the bull nose the 54’s are known for. The blue patterned seat cover is a nice, unexpected touch. The pristine engine bay is a nice home for that beautiful 235! Great job!

Beautiful 54. I'm rather fond of them since 54 is my birthyear. I think the 54 chrome grilles are uncommon, if not rare. I have seen more 55.1 trucks with chrome grilles than 54s.
Again, great truck. Enjoy it.

How did you find the chrome strip (or facsimile thereof) that goes around the joint where the cab meets the body?

I want to paint my Stovebolt in 2-tone ivory top and turquoise body (like a '57 car) and I need that belt line or whatever it is called that goes along the seam. Can you recommend someone that makes that or is it a generic thing most good body shops can replicate?

It's not a chrome strip but a 1/4" ivory pin stripe that was applied with this particular blue body color.

I love the cleaned up twiring. When I look at vehicles and see the rats nest of wiring I always wince and wonder why they don't try to clean it up.
