Most FLAPS don't carry fusible links especially 14 gauge type. Most vendors state as a general rule....10 gauge wire is protected by a 14 gauge fusible link. How many of you have your fuse blocks protected in this fashion?
I don't see any overload protection when the previous owner upgraded to a 12 circuit EZ wiring harness? If you have an intermitant short or a surge the fuse will blow instantly. You could be going down the center lane on the freeway & every thing shuts off. Or a dark 2 lane & the lights go out. With a fuseable link it would buck & flicker & not go off unless it was a continous dead short. Fuses are fine on the heater, radio etc.

Fusible links are available at most FLAPS. 14 is very common. They are sized 4 gauges smaller than the protected wire. For a 10 it's: 11 12, 13, 14 as you said. click Dunlap and Jasper

Doing just parts of the wiring is cheaper DIY however.

My home made wire harness works just fine, even as ugly as it is.
