The fitting is a compression 8N 45 degree. The line is suppose to slide in but those dang gone SS fibers need trimmed. Tried everything in my shop (even a ginzoo pair of sissors) and can not cut clean.
Do not have a metal chopping saw problay borrow one from my work shop. Defiantly when I start installing SS brake lines? Any suggestions? Ben

I wrapped the line with 2 turns of duct tape where I wanted to make the cut, then slowly cut it with a 32 point hack saw blade. Remove the tape and you have a very clean cut. Be careful though, those little SS strands will cut you in an instant. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 510 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 510 | I've used several wraps of masking tape and then a hacksaw. That stuff is a real pita. If you have any considerable amount of it to do (I did my whole 63 Nova from the fuel tank to the carb) your fingers are gonna bleed a lot. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 232 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 232 | On mine I wrapped it with duct tape and then used an air cut off tool. Works good. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 687 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 687 | Thanks Guys!!! Good ideas I have been thinking about getting a new (good) hacksaw. Also been thinking about getting the right cut off blade for my 4" grinder. I am to much of a perfectionist just want to make it look good.
