Look for something modern with the same bolt pattern, modern brakes.

Swapping brakes around for a few years newer drums might work, but also not likely worth the effort, minimal improvement.
What are you trying to do, or why? | | | | | Joined: May 2016 Posts: 56 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2016 Posts: 56 | O.K. I have a 48 gmc 1 ton . I read about how hard it is to find parts 4 huck brake parts and that it was worth the effort to update brakes to bendix. I assumed my 2 ton would be the same way. My 2 ton that I just bought has no brakes and i thought it mite be easier to just put a newer rear end under it. just looking 4 ideas on what to do. thanks Grigg for your help!
