I have been told that you can't use filler over metal that has been treated with an acid wash. The inner fenders were sand blasted and I then treated them with a product named Jasco Prep and Primer. I brushed it on them and let it dry. Does anyone know if I can fill over this product?

i have been dooing some research on metal wash (acid) and i am told to cover it with epoxy primer to seal it in , then fill.

I have found the De beerer epoxy primer to be very good and hard wareing and seals real well .

I usually scuff up the metal that has had the acid wash (phosphoric acid) before I apply filler. Once the filler is applied direct to the metal, I epoxy prime over the top of it. I haven't had any problems with this method.

I have since I originally posted this question done some research on it. I read the label and it said you could prime or fill directly over it. Just shows the old addage of if all else fails read the directions.
