I'm gonna need room in my shop this fall so I want to take my 38 apart and get the cab sandblasted and coat her in Oxysolve and slide that into a corner of the shop. Then probably take apart the rest. Any pointers for me before I begin ?

Takes lots and lots of pictures. Use lots and lots of baggies and mark everything. Try to leave your bolts in the holes they came out of.

No better smell than that of fresh paint. I've been building and painting cars/trucks for 47 years. Not gonna stop now.

what countilaw said "TWICE"... less the "bolts" in the holes thing.. unless they are out of the way... pix and a Marked baggy should work just fine...

Scrub as much dirt and gunk off BEFORE you put it in the shop...

Keep track of what you do in a notebook too.. draw pix, ect... take MANY measurements.. ie... front and rear wheel centerlines... mark those on the frame-deep!

measure and mark where the cab is supposed to go back to... ect..

most of all, have FUN.

Second and Third the previous comments - digital pics cost nothing and are valuable when reassembling. Bag & Tag all the small parts. Keep notes on disassembly sequences as 2 years down the road the old memory fades ! Lastly, if you think the truck takes up room just wait until you get all those body parts spread everywhere !!!. On the good side, everything is just plain bolted together - easy to take apart.
Have fun.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
