I'm wondering if anyone can tell me a quick and simple (yeah right!) way to remove the inner cab on a 54' chevy. Back in the day when my uncle still owned the truck he backed under a tree and put a nice dent above the rear window where it curves into the roof. What I'm hoping to do is some hammer and dolly work to even it out as much as possible before I start smearing in filler.

much easier to use a stud welder & pull the dent out

I would go with the stud welder and puller first but you can always cut out the inner skin and the weld it back in after you fix the dent. The number of spot welds used to afix the inner skin to the cab can only be determined through advanced mathmatics.

Thanks Guys, is there some way to pull off the same sort of thing with a regular welder (mig, tig, stick)?

You could weld a 1/4x20 nut in the middle of the dent then use a slide hammer with a 1/4x20 bolt to pull it out.

You could weld some good size nails to the dent and try a slide hammer on that.
