For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 | I have a question for you fine folks regarding installation of the bed wood to the crossmembers. I have new wood with the drilled holes and kept the crossmembers in order when I de-rusted and painted them. For some reason the wood and the crossmembers do not line up with the holes and the holes on the ends of the sheetmetal. Are there some suggestions you can offer to help? When I put the frame bolts through the wood they don't seem to line up with the crossmembers to the frame. Your experience would help. Gary

Or is the bolts not lining up side to side? I found this website: http://mar-k.com/installation_hints.html to be very helpful in the bed work I have done so far. Someone had passed it to me in another forum I had asked bed questions.

I set them on the frame to make sure the holes lined up there as well. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 | thanks for the tips. I am going to double check. I don't think I turned them around, but never know. I might put the wood on first and then hold the crossmembers up to see what lines up. Keep playing with it with a little patience. G.

I blocked it up and tied the bed so it was square. Then I assembled it standing up. It's a ton of work without crawling underneath it all day.
Mine also had two small holes in the sides on both ends. I put the cross member on the frame and checked it out because this is where my exhaust brackets were bolted to. I lined them up and decided whether they needed to be facing the front or rear. | | |
