I also placed an insulator between the carb and the intake manifold. The heat here is in the 110s. On acceleration the carb flatttens out and then acellerates. I follow the advice of the person who rebuilt the carburetor with no results. I can’t have the shop open the carburetor, under penalty of death, as they won’t guarantee the the work. Is there anyone who is reliable that I can go to for a carburetor?

Find a correct Carter YF carburetor for your application, install it, and drive on- - - -problem solved! Two barrels on a 235 is one too many. The only possibly worse choice would be two one-barrel carburetors.

Accelerates from cruise speed going up a hill or passing a slower vehicle???
If possible, avoid ethanol fuel like the plague if you have to drive in temperatures of 110 degrees!!!
