51 3100 stock springs changed rear end to Camaro rearend now back of truck looks raised can i take 3 of the 7 leafs out to not only lower it a little plus give the truck a smother ride dont really want to add lowering blocks brtween axel and springs

You won't lower it much, 1/2" to 3/4 or so. If you remove leaves, leave the two longest and take every other one, as told to me by a local spring shop. If you do this, the weight capacity will cut drastically. Try add teflon liners to the spring pack after cleaning each leaf. You will need to disassemble them, but they should have a good going through anyway. I did that on a 51 Ford F3. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. I removed the second, fourth & sixth leaf.. made a profound differance in ride. Lowered it too.. Also better off buying new spring U bolts. Dont waste your yr time with rusty old ones.
