For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 163 Jolly Roger | | Jolly Roger Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 163 | Bought my very first vehicle, a 1951 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup a couple years ago. Ive learned alot this far in the restoration and am still in need of some assistance here and there. The engine in it is a 1954 235ci straight 6 that has over 1,700,000 miles on it! It has had only 3 owners, the original owner, Mrs. Geraldine who bought it new in 1951, the body shop we bought it from, and now us! The strange thing with our truck is the parts on the engine are mixed and matched everything from the original generator being off a ford F1 to the fuel pump from a GMC. As it stands the only unoriginal things we have on the truck is the body panels. We are very close to having the engine run for the first time in 12 years (its been fully rebuilt).
