Welcome to the site. Nice to have the Canadian model when you're Canadian. It seems most including mine are US assembled. Is it a Chevy or GMC? Pickup?

You join a bunch of truck loving guys for sure. I see you already met Leo, .from your native country. I'd love to know more about the Canadian trucks. Good luck. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 131 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 131 | Good Day Highland Welcome to another 1950 one ton owner in Alberta. You might check out Fox and Doyle as they also have 1950 one ton Alberta projects. Mine is also a one ton but it is a 1955. Once you have about 5 posts you will be allowed to post photos. They watch for scammers when you are new.
Also it would be nice to know your first name and what town you are in. I know of about one dozen bolters in our province. There may be more.
Have fun with your project. The members here are the best. Howie

This truck has been sitting in the weeds since 1974 and my dad was going to give it away so I decided to bring it back to life.

Welcome again Highland. My 1434 is a dual wheel with a hoist for the grain box. It is now only a new wooden deck as the original was rotten. She spent the working days on a farm near Hanna and was a good find. Lucky to have the extra torque from the optional 261 engine. New hoses and a proper flush and the Hyel twin ram hoist works great. I need to repair the pinion seal then can drive it on the highway. Maybe to Three Hills show & shine next spring.
Good for you saving another truck. Was it built with a box? or just sold as a Cab & chassis? Single or dual wheels? You can still get hydraulic parts for the Huck brand of brakes but the drums are very scarce. The 1/2 tons went to Bendix brand brakes in 50 but the larger trucks did not. The steering and brakes are the most important part of our dear old trucks.
Leo wants a pet Dinosaur to put in his panel as a mascot. keep in touch as we are only one hour apart.
Longest day, it will be snowing soon! Howie

You’ve found the treasure trove of everything old GmTruck. This site is gold for anyone working on these old girls. The 1 tons will worm their way into your garage and heart and then stay there. I’ve grown more and more fond of my big ole girl. I look forward to seeing some pictures. I’ve got 56 miles under my belt now with my 1 ton. | | |
