Will the extra length cause problems? Also, does it matter if I use Loctite blue or Permatex #2 on the threads?

The best check would be to assemble your parts and check fro interference somewhere, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 1,652 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 1,652 | If it’s a flywheel bolt your after, the correct bolt should be 7/16-20 X 1, gm 839756. Listed in my gm 59 parts catelog as 42-59 but that number was used for quite a few years, at least up through the early 80s. You can get real gm bolts and washers on eBay. Not all that expensive.

I'm bolting up a standard flywheel and it looks as thought the new bolts I ordered will be okay. I have no idea why the bolts I removed were so short. Thanks again for the help.
