PPG, Dupont and few other WILL NOT warrenty their paint when soda blasting has been involved.

The fellow, named John, gave me quite a tour of his facility and here is MY prespective. If you are taking of any rust, (other than LIGHT surface rust) sand blasting would be best. If you are wanting to get off only the paint and light oxidation then soda will get it clean and smoooth. I say different stages of each. This guy is good and does the work for a local Mopar restoration shop that turns out some very nice automobiles. I do not know what "other" processes or chemicals or steps they use to get the end results but as for "cleaning the metal" I would go as mentioned above.
