Thinking about how to run throttle linkage. I have a 350 V8 with Edelbrock 600 carburetor in my 54 1/2 ton. I'd like to use the stock gas pedal or something that looks fairly stock. The cable pull pedals seem the most logical, but the only ones I'm finding online are big cast-aluminum race-car looking pedals. What did you do?

https://www.classicparts.com/1955-59-V-8-Throttle-Linkage/productinfo/89-651/ (observe how this linkage is mounted to firewall on a 55.2-59 V8 truck and copy it)
https://www.classicparts.com/1953-57-Accelerator-Pedal/productinfo/39-312/

This pedal will also work: https://www.classicparts.com/1958-59-Accelerator-Pedal/productinfo/39-313/

You did not say what parts you still have (pedal, pedal floor bracket,...)

The original pedal is still in the truck. It looks like the 55.2 -59 linkage for the later model truck would be a very tight fit in my 54 with the engine so close to the firewall.

OK then, use a cable throttle. Mod it to a stock pedal.
Many V8 swaps in AD trucks here. They all have throttle. Someone will advise.

I have used the aftermarket linkage on several 55-59 6cyl to V-8 conversions. It is tight on these trucks as well. I have not installed one with the engine in place however. Also, they have to be slightly modified as they come with a mount bracket for a flat firewall. The mounting location is not in a flat area. Typical aftermarket stuff.

I did not find an issue. The Classic truck Parts V8 throttle is an exact copy of original.

Look at the LoKar throttle pedal set up that uses a bellcrank and cable on the engine side of the firewall.
Normal sized pedal and allows positioning anywhere you like. Have installed two of them with years of
trouble free service.

I have ordered the Classic Parts 55-59 Throttle Assembly so now I am committed to make it work in my 54. Can anyone post a photo of one in a first series truck?
