I have a 350 V8 with Edelbrock 600 carburetor in my 54 1/2 ton. I'd like to use the stock gas pedal or something that looks fairly stock. The cable pull pedals seem the most logical, but the only ones I'm finding online are big cast-aluminum race-car looking pedals. It looks like the 55.2 -59 linkage for the later model truck would be a very tight fit in my 54 with the engine so close to the firewall. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | OK then, use a cable throttle. Mod it to a stock pedal. Many V8 swaps in AD trucks here. They all have throttle. Someone will advise.

It is tight on these trucks as well. I have not installed one with the engine in place however. Also, they have to be slightly modified as they come with a mount bracket for a flat firewall. The mounting location is not in a flat area. Typical aftermarket stuff. Fred

Normal sized pedal and allows positioning anywhere you like. Have installed two of them with years of trouble free service. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 52 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 52 | I have ordered the Classic Parts 55-59 Throttle Assembly so now I am committed to make it work in my 54. Can anyone post a photo of one in a first series truck? | | |
