The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop When did the 6 bolt dimensions change

I am looking to change rear ends and go to an open drive line. I want to keep the 6 hole wheels that are original. When did the spacing for the 6 hole wheels change in GM trucks? Also someone mentioned a blazer rear end as a normal doner. Do the blazer axles have the same stud spacing?

I know that 6 lug wheels from a 86 6 lug 4x4 Chevy fit on my 49 truck.

For the most part, K/5 components are regular old GM stuff. I have a '68 C/10 stepside, a '67 K/10 Sub, a '71 GMC Jimmy and just got a '72 Chevy blazer rolling frame. All the 12-bolt pumpkins were the same.Might be some 2whl/4whl differences in spring perches, coil vs leaf?

I am putting a 3.42 mid 80's K-5 Blazer rearend in my 46 for the original wheels.
