David died unexpectedly on January 5, 2018, at the age of 63 in Katy, TX.

David was a graduate from Henry Abbott Technical High School in 1972 and Ryder Diesel Mechanic Training Program in 1973. He later secured multiple certifications for jewelry design, jewelry repair and computer science. David felt he had won the life lottery. Through his journey to find answers to continuous health issues, he received a double lung transplant in St. Louis, MO on March 23, 1998. David was blessed with an additional 20 years of life spent with his family and was able to meet both grandchildren. After his transplant, he returned to first love of automobiles and founded The Hollister Road Company where he would build automotive parts and refurbish classic trucks.

Memorial services were held Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Midway Barbeque 6025 Highway Blvd., Katy, TX 77494. (281) 391-2830.

That's too bad, would've liked to met him.

I enjoyed his conversations and seeing his work.

Dave was a great guy, boss and friend. I had the honor to work with him in his last year. Dave was very smart with a massively diverse knowledge. He literally knew a little about everything and a lot about a lot of things.

He taught me to be innovative and try new methods when working with the old trucks and body work. He'd say to not worry about messing it up, "it's only metal and we can fix it".

I miss him, but know he's in a good place now. It really made my day to find this post while I was researching. It shows the impact he made in the vintage auto forums.

Rest in Peace brother Dave

Dave was wonderful explaining things. He had to be a good person.

Savannah54,

I use to work for Dave at The Hollister Road Co. While I didn't work with the disc brake conversions, my work mate did and he can answer any questions you might have. Let me know and I can get you in touch with him.
