Hi all, and thanks for reading. I have a 1952 3100 frame that I'm basically going to build a truck around. I'll be using a '67 327/3 speed manual, open driveline. First is there a rear end that's basically a bolt in? I know I'll have to pur in an enfi e and trans cross member. I'll be using 3" lowering springs all around and a disc brake kit for the front with a dual master cylinder and clutch bracket to use the stock pedals. It's not going to be a chromed our show truck. The look I'm going for us if Chevy had pur a 327 in in '52. I keep seeing steering box issues? I'm gonna shift from the column; will I have linkage and clutch rod issues? Thanks

A little tough reading some of your post words. Check spelling.

The column shift is probably doable only if you get the column and trans and linkage from the same donor. A column 3 speed says it's not a hot rod build, so just use a truck 4 speed top shift. Much easier.

Others will answer about a bolt-in Diff.

What body are you using? What kind of springs, coil or leaf? 1952 steering box and link rods, etc? The exhaust may not be a huge issue.

Don't let a bit of shaky grammar or spelling chase you from this site. We have done hundreds of V8 swaps into AD's and so have others so all the information you need is available on the "search" function. I hate, HATE the fact that Chassis Engineering has closed shop (owner died) as this was a one stop shopping site with very reasonable prices. Do a search on "265 exhaust manifold in a 47-54 Chevy truck" and you will find the engine can be centered, nothing moved, and shift linkage will work. As far as a rear end do a search on rear end widths and look for one close to 61 inches wide; this will be given as the wheel mount flange to wheel mount flange (WMF). Early Nova rears were dead on and had leaf springs but are scarce now. We use mostly Explorer rears now but they require a spacer or wheels with less back spacing plus cutting off all the non leaf spring brackets. They are tough, readily available, and cheap. This swap is so popular that a factory installed look is easy to attain. I have heard, but not used, that a Colorado/Canyon rear is very close for fit and has the six lug bolt pattern---check it out.

Just a question before I out in my two cents. Can the moderators just move the thread to the correct forum or do I have to go looking for the thread in another section?

The particular Forum Moderator (green handles) can move any thread within that Forum to any other Forum. Usually a arrow is left behind for 24 hours and you can click on that arrow to be taken to that thread wherever it was moved to. Moderators cannot move threads out of a Forum they are not a Moderator for. Not all Moderators check in on their Forums daily or choose not to move threads. There are Global Moderators (blue handles) who can interact in all Forums and Administration (red handles) that can do everything. Hope that answered your question.
