I am wondering if there is a company that sells the cab steps for my 59 that would sell a superior quality step over any others? I am looking for the steps with the attached rocker panel. Any ideas? Thanks

I'd bet that there's only on manufacturer for that 1 piece step/rocker ... I got a set of them from the NAPA up the street, about the same price as the vendors and no shipping ... excellent fit and weight, complete with the attached reinforcement underneath - drivers side freshly installed

my number wouldn't help, here the patch panels come thru Cross Canada Body Parts, that NAPA here lists - down there it should be Goodmark Industries, you could ask places if they can get parts from them, or check Goodmarks ordering info link for a distributor nearby - I can testify they have good quality parts ... and they have quite a list of metal parts, most of which I think are made by Dynacorn

TRY BROTHERS TRUCKS.
BE A LITTLE CAUTIOUS AS I ORDERED ONE FROM A LOCAL PARTS DEALER AND FOUND OUT AFTER I CUT MINE OUT THAT THE INNER VERTICAL PORTION WAS 1" TO SHORT SO I HAD TO MAKE A FILL PIECE TO COMPLETE THE DEAL.
I'VE SEEN THE BROTHERS UNIT INSTALLED IN A MAG WITH WHAT LOOKED LIKE GOOD RESULTS.

yes Rich, that vertical panel comes up just to the floor flange, doesn't lap under it as original .... that's why the rule is measure twice, cut once

OTOH, I always eliminate any lapped joints that need work, they're usually a good part of what cause the rot problem

I just checked out their website and found that the prices are extremely high. I can get the same parts from Scott's Super Trucks for $15.00 to $100.00 less PER PART! (example: Lower Right Front Fender repair panel: CC - $ 84.91, Scotts - 45.00/ Rear Cab Repair Panel: CC - $ 145.46, Scott's - $ 45.00) The list goes on....

Unless you are willing to pay for the convenience of picking them up locally, instead of having them delivered (Scott's is about an hour south from me). I can save enough money from Scott's to pay for many more parts!

Photo - if you're getting stuff for 100 less than Cross Canada, yer comparing apples and oranges! and you didn't list the step/rocker combo piece

I paid about 300 for the pair of steps with rockers from NAPA, Scotts list them for 145 each, then I gotta pay freight to here - he has steps without rockers for 45 each .... but then you gotta buy the rocker for 40 and spend 100 of time putting them together - in the US. Goodmark [where CC gets most of their parts] the step/rocker combo is $100

I get stuff from Scotts sometimes, but the freight makes most things more expensive than the Old Car Centre in Langley, who pay for any mailable orders over $50 or so .... and the NAPA here gets most of the Cross Canada parts within 24 hours for about as good a price as either of those

You're correct in that you'd have to pay freight from Scotts where it's a nice afternoon's drive for me to go and pick them up.

It just may be worth it to go 2 miles to the NAPA here in town and pay the 'extra' $ 3.75 each and save the drive!

Cross Canada is sold through Sherman Associates. You can look up their website at www.shermanparts.com. A lot of professional body shops use them. The price difference is usually based on where the panels are made. Overseas panels are less expensive, but are made from a thinner guage steel. They are all comparably priced. The North American panels are more money, but are a much higher quality part with correct (original) guage steel. They are more money, but worth it in the long run. Their prices are all comparable to each other. You can usually tell the difference by the price. $40-$70 = overseas, $90-up = North America.
