I hada fellow call me about a 58 one ton he has for sell. I had met him at a swap meet here in Texas and we visited about task force series trucks. The price is reasonable however my concern is about part availability. What's the down side of a 58 59 one tone dual wheel stake bed. Btw it has 8 lug one piece wheels not widow makers. What's the going price range one running unrestored and no rust though to be found, 235 six engine SM 420 tranny good straight body original paint in and out original wiring and accessories? Thanks for any help on what's "reasonable " range price wise as these don't come up too often for comparison. Thanks guys. Pete

Congratulations on finding a straight, rust free, TF one ton. I have seen prices all over the place on these. Just for comparison, I purchased my 1959 one ton flat bed with hoist in Mississippi. It has a good body with only very minor rust, a good running 235 and SM 420. Unfortunately, it also included the 18" wheels, which I have since replaced with 19.5s and radial tires. I gave $2900 for mine. On the other hand, a friend recently purchased an exceptional TF one ton for $15,000.

As far as parts availability, I purchase almost everything from my FLAPS. Brake drums are the only difficult to replace parts on the truck ,and if ever needed, are only available used.

I pulled apart a 58 GMC that needed more than the finished value. Most of it sold in a hurry, but I still have the rolling chassis. The price range is based on location and who happens to be looking for what and when. Old Bolter is spot on with what he said. No matter how you slice it, it sounds as though it's worth getting. If nothing else, get it, clean it, make sure everything works and put it out there in the bidding zone.

"FLAPS". Lol. I don't know what that stands for.

It’s like they said, depends on location and condition. After my son bought a 57 gmc NAPCO, I found a 55.2 gmc 1 ton for sale for 400 bucks and figured I could always use it for parts if needed. But it was in pretty good shape so I couldn’t strip it and now plan to just get it running and enjoy it. It has no bed, minimal rust, custom cab with all the chrome goodies and a Pontiac v8 w 4 spd and pto.
So.... you just never know what they’re “worth”. Just what are you willing to pay?

FWIW -- Not all one tons are the same -- i.e., 1-ton pickups and 1-ton dually flatbeds are very different trucks when it comes to valuation. It helps if the seller understands that, too.

He didn't say, but Steve's friend's $15K 1-ton might have been a pickup??

Bottom line is that the duallie flatbeds seem to be a lot more plentiful than the express body (pickup) 1-tons and therefore can be had for a lot less money.

Thanks John. Yes this truck is 5000.00 duallie 235 with sm420. Small window cab. Pitting Rust only on steps in cab one piece wheels original Cardinal red paint outside Silver grey interior But a 1000.00 truck haul to get to me here in tx.

I will not tell you what I paid for the 57 Dually with a running 327.
And a dump bed!
Planning on starting on the brakes soon.
Hope to haul it to the Homecoming next spring.

Nice find Don but since my original question was about current value for this trucks...why u want to taunt us ? Lol. I understand folks find some great deals in years past but with the value of these old stovebolt rising by the year.,.,I'm curios as to how the one and two ton values and sales prices have responded.
