Today, I bought my first "Big Bolt", a 52 Chevy. I have owned several half ton AD pickups over the past 30 years but this is my first 2 ton, and I have been wanting one for a while. I am wanting to learn from you all so I may post questions from time to time.
The biggest thing I am seeing is that there aren't a lot of part available for the bigger antique Chevy's unless some of the newer truck parts will inner-change.
tclederman, no I don't really have a purpose, just wanted a bigger truck to play with. I will use it from time to to transport lumber and plywood from the local Lowes to our home!
sweet! I have 2 of the 2-tons. Mine are newer though. I have been able to find a lot of parts at Napa and Rock Auto for mine, at least wheel cylinder kits, brake hoses, drive shaft carrier bearing, and stuff like that. Not much from newer trucks will interchange, cab stuff (at least on the Task Force trucks) is all the same as the smaller trucks.

Thanks 69Cuda!
I appreciate that. I knew that the cabs are the same as the 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks but that is about all I know so it's a learning process! I do like the 1963 292 engine that is in it!
Watch it Kevin! Big Bolts can be addictive! BTW, Great looking truck!

Great looking truck try Jim Carter they don't advertise it on their website but they have wheel bearings and stuff for the one and a half and two tons but you have to call to know
Start a few more posts, maybe post a few photos, and tell us more about your truck and what plan do do with it. That'll get you up to the "quota" that allows PMs, and use of the Swap Meet.
Can you post or bucket a few more pics of The bed I’ve got a 50 version of that same truck but mines a ton and a half and I’m looking to build a bed for the back of it basically the same style as well I can see in the front view picture of your truck
Bought this 1950 4400 at auction on a whim needed therapy project (boredom) So I got it home and decided that since it needed new floor and outside cab corners the easier thing would be to take cab off of frame so it could be done right. Found a shop local that could/would do it and so it started. I went slow and removed bits and pieces bagged and tagged packed into totes for later. Right now the truck is in chassis roller cab and sheet-metal have been dustless blasted A glass and water mixed blasting style primed and ready to go to the shop for a new floor and exterior cab corners. Everyone asked me what are you gonna do with it when you’re done “haven’t made up my mind” so that no immediate plans to do anything with it when I’m done other than keep it. Ordered all new seals and rubbers gaskets and miscellaneous missing parts already planned on putting bucket seats with the console in it as it had no seat. Since the floor I ordered, I ordered it without a seat riser but It came with a seat riser seperate so we’ll see maybe I will go back to Bench.
Tophat, instead of piggybacking onto someone else’s thread why not start your own? Much easier to keep up with different trucks. If you want to document your build go to the DITY forum which is a sub-forum in the Welcome Center. Thanks
