Need some direction in replacing the front bumper supports on my '50 1500. I see that the front spring shackles are part of the bolted up front. Was wondering about where and how to support things so that I can replace the front bumper supports without things falling apart on me.

They are not part of suspension support. They are held on with 3 per side bolts thru the frame. The only thing they support is the bumper and the gravel pan.

What Brad said. Even though two of the bolts on each side go thru the front spring mounts, those are fastened to the frame independently. I just removed the broken up front bumper supports from my truck and it's sitting there on the wheels without any other support added.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
