I'm way ahead of myself here but, how much does a full custom leather interior run and is there some reason I would not want leather? I'm building a resto-mod. hot rod.

There is no way anyone can tell you what it’s going to cost. You haven’t provided enough information to even make a SWAG. Center console, overhead console, door panels, full door covers? Bucket seats, dash cover, headliner, behind the seats, kick panels? Type and color of leather? Stitching type? Inserts or custom logos? Year and model of truck? Maybe $1500 on the low minimum leather work to $20000 for a full custom show quality interior. Maybe someone in the business can get it closer.🛠

What does this mean "I would not want leather?"

What year and what model truck?

My guess is 3x-4x the cost of reproduction covers/upholstery. You & I hope you are not referring to a Suburban?

I have purchased leather leftover from some other upholstery business, nearly full hides for not a lot of money.
Plan to use the original seat cover as a pattern for a new leather one, and or adjust a little as necessary. I also have heavy duty sewing machines and looking forward to the project when time allows.
There is very little stitching on the original seat covers, you could even do it by hand if you were determined to.
Or hire the sewing if you don't have the equipment, even that wouldn't be expensive.

Or hire the whole thing, materials and all, still I bet not cost prohibitive for the original style of seat cover.

Alan seems to get deeply involved/dedicated to his various hobbies/pastimes. He is probably not actively doing anything to his truck - just driving it, I hope.

Resto-mod... I'd be looking for nice modern leather seats from dismantlers. I've been running 60-40 split bench seat from Ford Ranger pickup in my '46 for many years and love it and seats flip forward to access a tiny bit of storage space. Best of luck

Don't know what kind of truck you have, but let's assume it is an AD, and let's also assume that a full leather interior means a pair of bucket seats and maybe a console. I just purchased the bucket seats that a fellow in phoenix buys out of Honda minivans that are being converted for use by disabled drivers. The pair fit perfectly in an AD cab, the consoles are also available but to use it, the driver seat is offset a couple inches left of the steering wheel, so I didn't get it. They are beautiful tan leather. I'll have to take out the pedestal and fab a mounting frame. The seats were $400. Reclining with arm rest and head rest. Check out you local swap meet. If you are serious, PM me, and I'll dig out his contact details. He will ship.

If you're just doing the bench seat, it shouldn't cost much if you purchase the leather yourself and have a auto upholsterer sew a cover for you. I did an old land rover seat this way in rough out suede, very rugged and comfortable. Looked great too. You'll need a couple hides probably. maybe 3? if you did hair on hide, black and white, that's about 700 bucks for the hides.
