I swapped out the 4.11 rear end in my '53 3100 with a 3.55 gear set. I have a 1960 261 in it and 27" inch high tires. What should I expect in terms of RPMs at 60 or 65 mph? Thanks!

Thanks, I did use that but my results are quite different. For example, that calculator indicates that I should be running 2830 at 65 mph but my tach only reads 2150. I have a 3 speed on the column. What are others seeing at that speed?

What type/size tires?
What measured-diameter of your tires? (not the "rated" advertized tire-diameter)
12v 6-cylinder tachometer?

3.55 rear end
1:1 high gear
27" diameter tires
65 mph

2872 at 65 mph
2651 at 60 mph
http://www.csgnetwork.com/multirpmcalc.html

I have radial trucks tires that the manufacturer shows 30" rolling diameter, but on my 6.50x16" wheels the rolling diameter is about 31.5".

Well, DUH! I had the tach set on 8 cylinders. When I corrected it to 6 cylinders my numbers matched up well. Sorry for this distraction, guys.
