My 66 Fleetside has a huge hole in the floor where the 4speed come through… a conversion from 3 on the column. How do I fill the hole? I heard that there is a cover that goes over the hole but I’ve looked around and there are not many 66 covers around. Do other years work…perhaps something in the 70s or 80s.?

Not sure about the other years working but you could make your own and weld it in or just use sheet metal screws to secure it in place.

I put a 78 cover in my 64 but I had to modify it and weld it in. It lined up pretty well all in all,

The cover over the transmission hump is called a dog house. The dog house of both the high hump and low hump style, is attached with bolts to capture nuts on the under side of the floor board. The low hump will have a smooth, mild curved shape covering the opening, used on column shift transmissions (automatic & three speeds). The high hump dog house is nearly vertical and squared at the sides and rises approximately 6" and flattens off at the top where the floor shift tower pokes through the cover, used on floor shift transmissions (granny low 4-speeds).

I have a few of each. Also, post a topic in Truck Parts Wanted for a low hump dog house for a '60-'66 Chevy truck. This dog house cover will bolt into your cab utilizing the factory capture nuts, therefore you will not have to cut and weld in a donor dog house cover that does not fit your truck. Thanks for all your input about the hole in my floor. I did not know what to call the piece that goes there. I'll look for a high hump model and if I can't find one I'll try a different year and weld it in.
