Took it back for replacement and all went well. Until a couple of weeks ago. Appears that the fuel pump is leaking into the engine. Can anyone recommend a good pump? Airtex (Carquest) is the one I'm having issues with.

I had problems wth two Airtex fuel pumps - they are now gone.

My personal tally on the faulty Airtex 4149 pumps is three (3). Two in one week. We never could determine "why" they would not pump, or seal. I did get one that was different (and, one that was the same as the Airtex). | | | | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 2,715 Carburetion specialist | Carburetion specialist Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 2,715 | Find an original at a swap meet.
Call "Then & Now Automotive" in Boston, and acquire a rebuilding kit.
Rebuild the original.
Forget about fuel pump problems.
