I've got an issue where the chrome piece above the grill on my '40 Chev dives low at the front center instead of being parallel to the top bar of the grill. I don't see how to adjust that up. Any clues welcome.

I put a yard stick across the script bottom touching the painted sheet metal. Getting back and eyeballing it, it looks like the script dips down about 3/8". I'm waiting for paint to dry on some small parts so will look closer at it today to try to see where I can make some corrections.

Another case of reproduction not the same as OEM. Anyway when I laid the repro alongside an original, it was obvious. The OEM grill bars slope toward the ground when installed. The repro does not. Each bar is welded at the out frame as original. The first thing I did to correct the shape was to screw the grill to the table. Then clamped a stack of 2 x 6's to the table about 8" gap from the grill. I've got a small scissor jack that I then put against the 2 x 6's and the center bar and forced the grill into position. I've got one remaining issue for tomorrow. I have to resolve why I can fit the grill on the truck except that the upper screw hole on each side does not match up to the grill.
So Dusty, you were right on.
