For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 80 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 80 | The louvers for the fresh air heater on my truck have some holes drilled into them. The replacement panel is real expensive and replaces the entire right side cowl. I am wondering if anyone has smoothed this panel on their truck and still has the louvers laying around? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 453 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 453 | I just finished removing the right side outer cowl panel from my truck. Louvers are in great shape. They're yours if you want them, no charge.

My truck had slightly bent louvers on that panel. I could see no way to repair them that would make them straight and crisp looking as they should be....I replaced the panel!
Any welding in the immediate area of those louvers will surely warp the sheet metal, and maybe the louvers themselves. Be careful!
