1958 gmc 1/2ton truck. What is the bolt size of inner fender down low near the cab.

Danny, to be a shop shark you have to know how to figure out a bolt size. Just by eyeballing, you can guess one or two sizes. Like 5/16 3/8...Then try some bolts. Any bolts laying around.
By "size" do you mean thread size or length?..or both? You can't be held back waiting for someone to go out and measure, you will never get done. Force yourself to identify the few sizes used on the trucks by eyesite or testing. You need a cheap thread gauge and a set of calipers.... or just 4 different bolt sizes. This is a real basic question. Take this as a constructive recommendation not a dis. You are asking for someone to do more effort than you could do. There will be members with TF that will be kind enough to do it, but it seems a bit hard to understand your position.

Danny, If your truck is still assembled, check for bolt sizes on a similar installation (maybe the opposite side?)

There can be basic questions that if you don't know, you want to learn. There are many "basic" questions that I don't know. I've had many TF's but can't remember what size or exactly where you mean.

As you can we are trying to go over all the methods we use in an effort to help. the other bolts.

Why work and think when you can make a few key strokes and discover the meaning of life.
Before the internet, I had to learn how to fix these old trucks the hard way. While it took longer and was frustrating at times, I did experience a much greater feeling of accomplishment figuring it out by myself.

Well I was installing the whole front clip on my truck. I had a buddy "help" unbolt& remove it months ago. All the bolts were tossed in one bag. First mistake.2nd mistake was thinking the bolts were coarse thread. So the front clip is held on by national fine thread bolts.7/16th NFT where the grill meets the frame; 3/8 NFT where the top&lower outer fenders bolt on.
I was putting coarse stuff where it should have been fine threaded.... Who woulda thought that? . [quote=

Yes I tried various bolts that I had until I had what I thought was "the one" .Turns out it is 5/16thNCT where all others were NFT- I probably should buy a tap&die set.

I posted here vs elsewhere thinking I would get a better more accurate response since I was asking specifically about a 58gmc truck.

wasn't looking for "the easy way out"-wanted to hear from people who have "Been there done that" with something in common-

Or maybe he's mixed up all his bolts on disassembly or lost them and trying to figure out what is needed to go back. Hoping that someone on here has done it recently and maybe knows off the top. Let's give folks the benefit of the doubt, particularly us Texans who need all the help we can get.
