Problem is that the "special fasteners" referred to are nowhere to be found. Anyone know where I could find some?"But the illustration on the left in the instructions shows a "screen assembly" which means I'm missing more parts. Has anyone seen one or have a clue about how this assembly looks? Thanks

Tractors use similar. Do a search for "cub cadet grille springs". They should work.
The "screen assembly" is the cover itself, not some additional part.
