It's holding up the barn! An old building is in the process of being repaired, and they're using the bed of the old truck to support the roof trusses while they rebuild the walls. There are jacks, timbers, and a come-along or two anchored to the truck, so it's not going anywhere soon, at least until the rebuilding project is a little more complete.
Nobody was around to ask about it, so I left my name and phone number on a scrap of wood and propped it up on a fender where it will be hard to miss. What year did the switch from turn-down door handles to push buttons happen? This one's got the turn type handles. All the glass appears to be there, and other than a wrinkled right front fender and a little grill damage,. it appears to be in pretty good shape. I hope somebody decides to get in touch with me!

I found a '55 GMC 250 last year in a barn that hadnt seen daylight in more than 22 years. If ya do get chance to look it over good and talk to somebody about it, I wonder if you could check something out for me? I'm hopein it has a 270 , 6 cyl in it cause I havin a head scratcher with mine. Maybe you can find the answer for me. Pop the dist. cap and see if it has a cup below the rotor and above the points? Somethin that would set ON the dist housing but under the rim of the cap. My current project is givin me a hell of an eye twitch cause the cap doesnt seem to fit right. Like the rotors too tall and the cap seems loose on the housing too??? You wouldnt just happen to have any ideas would you ????? Thanx in advance and good luck with yer find. Mark

You are correct, GMC's went to push button handles the same year as Chevy 1952.
