if iwas gonna sand down my truck when i could get the time and it was gonna be spread out his there a priemer i can put on that will keep what ive done in good shape
and wont cusse a bunch head ace when paint time come
it will see the weather

I used Rust-Oleum sandable auto primer. Dries fairly quickly and is easy to sand when the time comes for finishing.

I'll second that about the Rust-Oleum wet sandable primer. When I've finished stripping the rust and paint off an area, I'll spray it right away. In the beginning...I was spraying some WD-40 on a rag and wiping it down to keep it from flash rusting, everybody in here set me straight on that. DON'T DO IT! I removed the WD-40 with some degreaser, then primered it.

i was always told that a light clear coat will work.keeps the moisture out of the primer till you want to paint and the prep is the same. you can get it in spray cans so if your doing a spot at a time and it will be awhile before you paint this might work for ya.i havent actually tried this so i dont know but it sounds good.
