You cut the donor dash big and then grind them off individually (carefully). Removing the existing one from the truck is again best done with die/burr grinders. The pinch weld area is very thin and needs extra care going out and in. https://www.flickr.com/photos/advance-design_parts_co/12512838825/in/album-72157631868452754/ | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | Should it be noted that Brad's excellent photo is of a 54/55st dash panel, which most likely is "simpler" (fewer spot welds) compared to the two-pane-windshield in earlier trucks (like zoegrant's)?
Brad, what do you estimate would be the cost of that 54/55s dash? Is it a replacement panel, or is is a panel that had been removed from a truck? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,299 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,299 | I replaced the dash and the front cowl on my '52, and I will never do that again. It seems that GM started with a dash and welded the entire truck around it.
